The NNWA reunion will be in DALLAS, TEXAS!!! The dates are September 30th to October 4th 2009. This year Lonnie Cucinitti will host the reunion. Mention the ‘Navy Nuclear Weapons Association Reunion’ when you make your reservation, whether by phone or online.  The room cut-off date or reservation cancellation   is September 16, 2009. The room rate is $69.00 for a room with a king-size bed or a room with 2 double beds. A full hot Breakfast included. Please wear you name tag at breakfast. The 1st floor is for persons with special needs. The entire 3rd floor is where the smoking rooms are located.  The Garden Cafe restaurant is in the hotel. Local fast food restaurants in the area are: McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Subway, Quiznos, and Burger Bueno.

 From: DWF Int'l Airport Take north airport exit to I-635 East. Follow I-635 East to Coit Road. Exit at Coit Road and turn left. Follow Coit Road to Emily and turn right. The Best Western Dallas Hotel & Conference Center is on right.

 From: Dallas Love Field Airport Exit airport and go east on Mockingbird Lane to the North Dallas Tollway. Go north on Tollway and exit 635E. Take 635E to Coit Road. Go north on Coit Road. Turn right onto Emily. Best Western Dallas Hotel & Conference Center is on right.

Thursday, October 1

   0800 – 1200 Registration in Hospitality Room

   0800 - Hospitality room opens until last man standing –ask desk clerk to lock up

   1000 – Load buses for a tour and lunch at Southfork.

Internationally renowned as the filming location for the "Dallas" television series, Southfork Ranch is known the worldwide as America's most famous ranch. 

 After Southfork, a bus tour of Dallas. Then we will take a trip to the 6th Floor Museum

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza has welcomed more than 6 million visitors from around the world. . Arrive back at hotel at approximately 1630.

 Friday, October 2

  0800 – 1430 For those interested in shopping, please arrange a schedule with the front desk for the hotel van to and from Northpark Mall or the Galleria shopping centers. If you will be going on the tour to Fort Worth, MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT THE HOTEL BY 1430 TO BE ON THE BUS!!!

    1430 – Load buses for tour to Fort Worth Stockyards with a visit to Billy Bob’s.

   1600 - When was the last time you saw a cattle drive? Experience the world’s only twice daily cattle drive as Fort Worth's herd of Texas Longhorn steers. This is done every day at 1130 and 1600.   

   1700 - Tour members will enjoy an authentic

Texas Barbeque Dinner at Riscky’s BBQ with all of the trimmings.  Afterwards, tour members can shop in the Stockyards Station or along Exchange Street.

   2000 - The Stockyards Championship Rodeo is held at the Cowtown Coliseum.  For thrills and spills, this is one of the best rodeos around. Events include bull riding, team roping, barrel racing, calf roping, and more.

    2200 – Or as soon as rodeo is over, board buses for return to hotel

    2300 - Approximate arrival at the hotel.

Saturday, October 3

    0700 – 0900 – Hospitality room will be closed during business meeting

    0900 – 1100 – Business meeting in Ballroom B

A note about the Texas State Fair

 

The fair is the largest in North America. There have been more than 3,000,000 visitors each year for the last several years. The fairgrounds cover 227 acres and it’s easy for a group to become separated or for someone to get lost. District, Farmers Market, Pioneer Plaza with a

life-sized collection of 49 bronze longhorns and 3 bronze cowboys on horseback, the Kennedy Memorial, John Neely Bryan’s log cabin (the founder of Dallas) and the Old Red Court House. The tour concludes at the John F. Kennedy assassination site, where tour members will take a stroll on the grassy knoll before visiting the Sixth Floor Museum where you will have an Audio tour.
