Donald J. Micco of Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH, age 96 passed away 01/22/2025 at Meadow Falls of Saybrook. He was born 05/04/1928 in Cleveland, OH to the late James and Muriel (Boyd) Micco. He married Dorothy M. Kerr on 05/02/1981 in Madison, OH. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving over 30 years in the regular Navy during WWII, Korea, Vietnam as Gunnersmate/Nuclear Weapons Technician First Class, from 1945 to 1975. Serving on 8 naval vessels and
10 shore stations. He was picked to make the WWII Honor flight to Washington, DC in 2009.  His hobbies were painting and music, a drummer in many bands both in the service and after his retirement from the Navy and was in the Remember When Band and also played with the Porter Fun Bunch and Thunder Creek Band. He was a school bus driver from 1977 to 1993 in Madison, OH and Deepwood Center in Mentor, OH. He was a life member of VFW Post 6846 Geneva, American Legion Jay Wilson Post 112 Madison, OH, a life member Military Order of Cooties, member of La Societe des 40 & 8 V-203, a life member of the Tin Can Sailors, life member of Sea Bees of America, ls. X-9 Cleveland, OH; a member of the Navy Nuclear Weapons Assoc; a member of the USS Proteus AS19 Site One of Holy Loch, Scotland; a member of his many Naval ship associations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; Daughters: Durenda (Coy) Micco of Barberton, OH; Deanna (Darin) Weis of Canton, OH; Thomasina (Ronald)
Acker of Bernville, PA; Dalanie Barefoot of Carrollton, OH; Step-Daughters: Lydina (Joe) Ball of Larue, TX; Melinda (Jimmy) Miller of Painesville, OH; 15
Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Preceding Don were his Brother: Edward; Sister: Evelyn Fike; Parents; Step-Son: Carl Limrick; Son-in-Law: Daniel Barefoot and First Wife: Vincenza.
