
Peter Hernandez Corona of Vallejo, California passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the age of 93.
Peter was born on April 14, 1932, in Anaheim, California. He graduated from Anaheim High School in 1949 and joined the United States Navy, where he served for 25 years during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was an expert marksman. He retired from the Navy at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Pete had many hobbies and interests throughout his life including: TV repairs, computers and technology, digital photography, gardening, macrame, latch hook, caring for his pets, and creating memorabilia for family and friends in the form of cups, t-shirts, framed photos, and other various keepsake items with photos. Pete was a self-taught life-long learner who could fix or troubleshoot just about anything. He even built his own computer from a Heath Kit in the late 70’s. Pete was a giving person who was fiercely loyal to those in his close circle. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity, and for all of the photo memorabilia that he created and gifted to everyone that he knew. He
made lasting memories with those lucky enough to share in his life.
He was preceded in death by wife Lucile Corona, great-grandson Brian Christopher Trevisan Maxey, sisters Annie Mesa, Carmen Corona and Theresa Antolin , brothers Panfilo Corona, John Corona and Amador Corona, and mother-in-law Irva Green.
He is survived by brothers Louis Antolin, Albert Antolin and David Antolin, stepson Richard L. Maxey, grandson Geoffrey D. Maxey, granddaughter Meridith L. Amato, great-granddaughter Jessica L. Amato, God-daughter Tanya Marino, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving family members.
The family would like to thank David Grant Medical Center at Travis AirForce Base in Fairfield, CA for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Pete’s love, light, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all he touched.
