See lots of names of folks from the Navy's Nuclear Weapons Program who are not yet members of the Navy Nuclear Weapons Association. Go to the web site, complete the application and send it along with payment. You too could be at our next reunion in San Diego in 2017 and meet some old and new shipmates.

Hi there spooks, Any body still out there in Class NW-10 from Albuquerque? This would be in 1958? Retired in 1977 and lost contact with everybody. Kind of a blessing I guess.

Hello,

I am a former Navy Weapons Technician (1984 - 1991)

I and some other WTs run a Facebook page called: Navy (Nuclear) Weapons Technicians, Gunners Mate Technicians.
We'll be selling GMT / WT Tshirts and would like to donate an amount of the proceeds to the NNWA as a way to give back to the community.
Can one of the NNWA board members please email me at: athena.college@gmail.com
or call me directly at: 619-307-8084
Thank you! 🙂

I just found out about this website through Jim Little's book. I saw where Chief Wickham passed away in April of last year. I was stationed at Skiffe's Creek Annex when he made Master Chief. It was an honor to work for him.

For anyone who's interested, the Navy has just issued a Letter of Intent stating they'll make pier space available at the Newport Naval Station for the USS Kennedy to become a museum if the Rhode Ialand Aviation Hall of Fame can get the environmental issues solved and there is sufficent support from the population. "Population" is us, guys. Go to http://www.ussjfkri.org/ and see what you can do to help.

I graduated from Explosive Ordnance Disposal School (Conventional and Special Weapons) in the fall of 1961 and reported for duty aboard USS RAINIER (AE-5) in 1962 and served as Gunnery Officer and Special Weapons Officer until separation from Navy in August of 1964. I believe I qualify for membership in NNWA, but I do not see any EOD listing as a prerequisite for membership.

Dropped by to find out more about my deceased Grandfather, Derward B. Rhodes, Chief Gunman in the Navy. Since his passing we have found there was little we knew of his life, as he was sworn to secrecy on who knows how many things to do with his involvement in nuclear activities. Thank you for your informative website. Cheers! --N. Rhodes

Ray - I never heard back from anyone concerning the location of Chris. Are you talking about W.D. Jones? He used to be located in Punta Gorda, FL but I lost track of him after that.
Ray Margeson wrote on September 16, 2024 at 10:16 am
Sure do see names that I recognize. John O'Malia - did you find anything about Chris? Larry Nearwood - where did we meet? Bill Jones - did you make Chief at NASNORVA?

I'm a member and I read on one of the business meeting minutes where the possibility was brought up about new things for the Supply Store. Personally! Colorful Tee shirts would work for me! Not Bland colors. Let's get with the times Shipmates!
